The First Step On Your Road to Recovery Is to Believe and Trust
by Carol Giannantonio
When you are faced with an illness or injury, it is easy to become depressed and lose sight of your goals and dreams. When your physical body is weak or compromised, particularly your immune system it affects your mental and spirituality ability.
The first step to recovery is to believe and trust. You can do this by building your inner core-your spirituality. This is your true essence. Connect with your soul, feed your mind positive thoughts and miracles will happen.
Connecting with your soul and spirituality gives you strength in all areas of your life. This is called HEALING. Healing is a process and another step on your road to recovery.Spend time healing yourself - caring for your body by giving it rest, love and kindness. Think of things you love- do the things you love as you can- be it reading, listening to music, dancing, yoga, meditating, soaking in a hot tub, going for a walk, watching the sunset or rise or just listening to the still of the moment. Spend time learning how to heal your mind and body as you continue to believe and trust.
On your road to recovery keep a positive attitude and smile. Keep your will and faith.Have the courage to never give up. Believe and trust in you and the universe.
I'm sharing my personal battle of recovery with you. The strategies, actions, resources, and remedies I've used to combat my own illness.
I'm a Life Coach. Coaching is my passion. It's also healing for me. I find great joy in helping others, making make a positive impact on people's lives. I listen deeply to what they say and what they do not say. I help them clarify what they want and where they want to be and I help them get there.
Coaching is one way I give back. Giving back and doing good deeds makes you happy, and feel good. Giving back is also healing.
Your road to recovery is filled with new insights and suprises. One thing you may discover on your road to recovery are your true friends- those who say they care and those who are always there and truly care. Actions speak louder than words. This can be surprising and hurtful. Don't personalize it. Remember it is not about YOU. It is about THEM. Don't spend negative energy being angry -it takes away from your healing and recovery.
Remember it takes less energy to forgive, than it does to be angry. Set boundaries if you need. Give love. Yes, I did say give love. When you give love and send positive energy these "friends" will either embrace it, give it back or they will just go away.
Treasure the friends who are always there for you even when you least expect it. Count your blessings. This is also healing. Focus on the positives in your life, the little blessings. Find happiness in every day! Create happiness in all your days. Fight hard, finish strong, believe, and trust.
"I have your back. I will never let you fall." My fiance Bob told me this in my darkest hours. I'm blessed to have him in my life. These words helped me so much. I'm blessed and sharing my blessings with you is part of my healing.
Discover your blessings, share them and allow yourself to heal. Believe and Trust.
We all have at least one person in our life that loves us unconditionally- God, a spouse, a dear friend, a partner, family, and our pets. Treasure them- look to them for support. They are another one of life's blessings.
Believe it or not- pets are some of our best companions and healers. My Shitzu "Cody" loves me unconditionally. Cody is always there for me. Giving me hugs and kisses. He senses when I'm sad or in pain. He cuddles up to me. His big bright eyes look deeply into mine. I hear them say-I love you-don't be sad, you are going to be ok. Trust and believe.
So remember, your road to recovery is believing, trusting, counting your blessings, giving back, taking action on your goals, following your dreams-never losing sight of who you are and never, ever giving up!
At times we surprise ourselves with just how strong we really are.
